OKRs for Beginners: Write Your First OKR in 5 Minutes

What you need

An OKR has two parts: an objective (where you want to go) and a few key results (numbers that show you are getting there). If you want the full background, read What are OKRs?.

Step 1: Write the objective as a short, inspiring sentence

Good: Make customers happier with our support. Avoid listing tasks.

Step 2: Add two or three key results with numbers

Each key result should contain a starting point and a target:

  • Raise customer satisfaction from 80% to 90%
  • Reduce first response time from 8 hours to 2 hours
  • Close 95% of tickets within 2 days

If you cannot put a number on it, it is probably a task, not a key result.

Step 3: Start from a template, then let AI help

In AntOKR you pick your kind of company and get a ready-made first OKR to edit. If you add your own API key, you can also describe a goal in a sentence and click Suggest objective & key results to have AI draft it.

Step 4: Check in weekly

Once a week, update the numbers and note what is blocking you. AntOKR pre-fills your confidence from your progress, so you only explain what is off track.
